Cardinal nation what is going on? All of a sudden the Redbirds cant beat the Braves? We can't have this. Gotta keep from becoming complacent because of the lead. Better get with it. Playoff intensity needs to be thier.

Curt Schilling is, according to his own big mouth is considering running for Ted Kennedys vacant seat. I will go out on a limb here and predict he would be the same pompous self promoting self absorbed crybaby whiner as a public official as he has been as a ballplayer. Please just go home to medfield.

Playoffs are dlose posted on 08/29/2009
The Cardinals look to be in the drivers seat in the NL central. Iam starting to wonder who they will face in the first round. I am hoping to see the Dodgers. They have been scuffing a little and the Cardinals have had some trouble with Colorado this year. Philadelphia will be tough and I think the road to the world seris has to go through the City of Brotherly Love.
Whoever it turns out to be I have to think St. Louis is in good shape forthe NLDS. The one- two punch matches up great against anyone. Cardinals in four in NLDS.

The Cardinals got Smoltz for a song. Will he pay a big dividend in September and October? Hey, so far pretty good. What happens come playoff time. Will he adjust to a set up role? Will he have too?
