Shonn Greene for the Heisman! Is anyone with me? Ok, I won't get that extreme, because I, along with other knowledgable college football fans, know that Sam Bradford should run away with the award. Bradford's TD/Int Ratio has him as the front-runner for the Heisman, not to mention the fact that he's on a championship contending team. It seems like that is the only thing voters are going to be caring to look for this year. As I believe that Bradford should win, I believe that he is the only player who should be ahead of Shonn Greene.
Shonn Greene first played for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the year of 2005. He was a redshirt freshman and he was just learning under the wings of solid starting back for the Hawkeyes at the time, Albert Young. Greene saw limited action, only giving Albert Young that occasional breather when he was carrying the load. Next year in 2006, same exact story. The future looked bright for Shonn Greene. He was doing what most young running backs on Big 10 teams do, he sat on the bench and learned. Of course, he knew that it would soon be his chance to shine for the Hawks as the starter. The starting job was his, once Young graduated.
